Our Disability Training Team provides health support training and competency-based assessment for support workers employed in the disability sector in South Australia.
The RDNS SA Disability Training Team has over 20 years’ experience in disability support and training. We currently provide training services to over 75 disability organisations in metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia.
We assist these organisations to build and maintain a skilled workforce to enable the support to people with a disability living in the community.

Our new online training module, Assist with medication, answers the call for economical and flexible options in medication training. As a special introductory price, we are offering the online module for $40.00 per person.
The course takes approximately 2–3 hours and a certificate of completion is issued upon successful completion.

After you complete the online module, you will need to successfully complete a practical demonstration at one of our training centres to receive a Certificate of Competency in Administration of Medication.
Guided practice sessions and competency assessments are undertaken at the RDNS SA training rooms. Please contact our training team to enquire about guided practice and competency assessments at your service location.
Complex health support training
We also provide the following services for clients requiring a complex level of support in the community:
- Health assessment for individual clients
- Develop individual Health Plans that reflect client specific training and individualised complex health support
- Support worker training for clients who have complex health needs
- Gastrostomy (PEG)/jejunostomy support
- Tracheostomy support
- Oral suction
- Oxygen therapy
- CPAP and BiPAP
- Home mechanical ventilation
- Stoma and ostomy support
- Antegrade continence enema
- Clean intermittent catheterisation.
Complex health support training is provided across a range of settings including in-home, supported accommodation, respite and day programs. All complex health support training includes individual competency assessment.
Support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
As a registered NDIS provider, we provide training and assessment to delegated support workers who are responding to the complex health needs of a participant, where that care is not the usual responsibility of the health system.
