There are eight levels of Support at Home ongoing funding, and three short term funding pathways available.
As your needs change, you can be reassessed to receive a higher level of care and funding. There are also short term pathways to meet different needs, these include:
- Restorative Care Pathway: Short term support to maintain and improve your independence through a variety of allied health services.
- End of Life Pathway: Additional funding to access services and remain at home during your last three months of life.
- Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) Scheme: Access to products, equipment and home modifications to help you live independently at home.

The Australian Government expects all people to contribute towards the cost of their care, if they can afford to do so.
Once your funding is approved you will receive a Support at Home budget, this outlines the cost of your care and how your funding and contributions will be used to pay for the supports you need. The Government will send you a confirmation letter once your aged care funding has been assigned.
You have 56 calendar days from the date on your assignment letter to sign a Service Agreement with your chosen provider. If you need more time, you can ask My Aged Care for a 28 day extension.
Should you choose not to sign a Service Agreement in this period, your funding will be withdrawn by My Aged Care, and you will need to reapply and wait again. Once your Service Agreement has been signed your services will be scheduled to start as soon as possible.
