Caregiving experiences

Support and understanding

We worked with carers to create this storytelling gallery. With consent, we share carers’ stories in their own words to challenge assumptions about caregiving. The stories are based on research with carers in Australia, the UK and the US, helping us understand both shared and unique caregiving experiences across different support systems.

Please share your feedback about these videos. You can click on the icons and send us a message via the feedback form below. Your feedback is valuable and will help us understand which stories you connected with most.

The 2026 Melbourne Ageing Research Collaboration (MARC) funded this project. We acknowledge the contributions of carers, actors, MARC, Carers Victoria and Silverchain.

Carers often experience challenges such as poor wellbeing, loneliness and stress, and many find it difficult to get the support they need. Thanks to donations to the Silverchain Foundation, we can support carers and recognise the critical role they play in helping their loved ones continue to receive care at home.
