What is palliative care?

Palliative care can be provided to people of any age who are facing a life-limiting illness or have complex care needs.

It’s important to know that palliative care recognises the right of the person with the illness to make decisions about their treatment. You can choose who is involved in your care.

How do I get these services?

Generally, people are referred to palliative care services by their general practitioner (GP) or medical specialist. If you feel this service is right for you, speak to your doctor about your options.
