Seniors to ‘Have a Go’ with Silver Chain

Silver Chain is joining West Australians of all ages to celebrate older people in the community as part of Seniors Week.

Thousands of people are set to descend on Burswood Park for the annual Have a Go Day event for over 50s.

This year’s theme is ‘Age is No Barrier’, and Silver Chain will be celebrating on Wednesday with activities and giveaways for families to ‘Have a Go’ at.

Mini golf, a photobooth and a prize draw will be among the main attractions at the Silver Chain stall. Friendly staff will be on hand to chat about products and services in the community, including home care, health and volunteering with us to help others.

Our friends from the Smart Care team will be there with personal alarms, show bags and information about the latest technology helping people stay independent at home.

And with temperatures expected to reach almost 30 degrees on Wednesday, visitors can come and cool down at the Silver Chain rest stop, with couches, bottles of water, sunscreen and fans on hand.

Silver Chain General Manager, Social Care WA, Anne-Marie Cox said: "Have a Go Day is a fantastic community event and a time of celebration where we recognise and appreciate Western Australian seniors.

"We're delighted, as always, to be taking part and look forward to chatting with local people and their families about how we can help them to stay healthy, safe and connected in the home."

Organised by the Seniors Recreation Council of WA, Have a Go Day takes place at Burswood Park, from 9am to 3pm on Wednesday.

Come and join the Silver Chair team at the fun, free event at site 82. Free parking is available in car park 8 towards the Crown Casino, and the closest entrance to our stall is Gate 1.
