For the past six years, the Kirwan-Ward family has opened their Oakford property for a special day of fundraising for Silver Chain.
This year, for a gold coin donation, more than 300 locals and friends flocked to the Oakford, WA property to pick armfuls of beautiful white lilies in the sunshine and enjoy morning tea. In the process, they raised more than $13,000 for Silver Chain.
The family runs the annual event in memory of their husband and father Phil Ward, and over the six years they have been running the event, have raised more than $49,950.
It’s become so popular that the family does not advertise the event, making Lily Day even more special for those in the know.
