The latest and most advanced personal alarm to-date, the Smart Hub – a flexible alarm designed to assist people to maintain their independence in the home – will be available to Silver Chain clients soon.
Silver Chain Alarms Manager, Kiah Lee, said whilst the other personal alarms in Silver Chain's collection rely on a phone line to operate, the Smart Hub connects to the mobile network with a SIM card.
“When using the Smart Hub, you will benefit from new technology as the alarm has a battery back-up of more than 40 hours, which means in the event of a power outage you will be able to continue to use your alarm,” Kiah said.
The alarm can be activated from anywhere in your home by a pendant you wear around your neck with a green light confirming activation. You can also press the red help button on the Smart Hub itself.
When the Smart Hub is activated in an emergency, it contacts our 24/7 monitoring centre, putting you in touch with a trained operator who will assess your situation and determine what action needs to be taken. They will get in touch with your nominated contacts or emergency services and stay on the line until help arrives.
