Silver Chain’s Social Centres give clients the opportunity to interact with others in a comfortable home like environment while participating in a range of fun activities such as cooking, gardening and flower arranging.
Clients from the Rockingham Social Centre and Respite Cottage, together with children from the local Bungaree Primary School, will work together to create an interactive corridor and seascape mural to support the growing number of dementia clients taking advantage of the facility.
Since Silver Chain introduced Consumer Directed Care into Home Care Packages in July this year, the organisation has continued to see clients benefiting from having greater choice and control in the type of care they need to live independently.
Silver Chain has appointed Dr Daryl Kroschel as its first full time Medical Director for the Home Hospital service. This is a significant appointment for the organisation as it not only recognises the growth in this service but also the huge potential for the future.
