Growing our services in WA and SA
We operate as Silver Chain in Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria.
In South Australia, we are known as the Royal District Nursing Association (RDNS).
Together, as Silver Chain Group we have more than 3,500 staff and 280 volunteers, assisting more than 98,000 people to remain living in their homes and community every year.
And we are continuing to grow.
Silver Chain Group expands in South Australia
RDNS SA is pleased to be taking over as the new provider of Domiciliary Care services by June of 2018.
The South Australian Government owned Domiciliary Care is one of the largest providers of homebased care for older South Australians, providing services
to around 6,000 clients across metropolitan Adelaide.
This is a significant milestone for our organisation. We will not only grow our presence in South Australia but expand the range of services we offer in pursuit of
our vision to provide world’s best health and aged care in the home so Australians can confidently live their lives as they choose.
Meeting the current and future needs of Domiciliary Care clients will be our top priority and we are proud to be tasked with taking over Domiciliary Care’s operations and adding to RDNS SA’s 120-year long history of providing safe and high quality care services in the state.
Welcome to our new City of Canning clients
In 2017, following Federal Government reforms in the aged care sector, the City of Canning Council voted in favour of transferring their care services to Silver Chain.
We were selected by City of Canning thanks to our long history providing in-home community care services, our existing range of services in the City of Canning and
our ability to support the whole ageing journey for a client through health and aged care services.
To ensure a smooth transition, Silver Chain worked closely with the City of Canning to ensure all clients, staff and volunteers were kept fully informed of the process
and choices available to them.
Prioritising continuity of care, Silver Chain also offered positions of employment to City of Canning support workers.
Since the official transfer on 1 December 2017 the number of clients in the City of Canning receiving our aged care services has increased from 1,600 to close to 3,000.
We are also pleased to be continuing to operate the City of Canning’s Day Centres
including Everglades, Pendana and Queens Park, adding to the three metropolitan Social Centres we already run in Rockingham, Fremantle and Mandurah.
We’d like to extend a warm welcome to both the new clients and staff who have now commenced with Silver Chain.
