Get some PEP back in your step
If you have recently spent time in hospital and need some extra help to get up and go again, you might be eligible for our Personal Enablement Program (PEP).
PEP is a short-term program specially designed for usually independent people who are about to be discharged from hospital.
PEP can assist you to regain - and even boost - your wellbeing and independence - physically, mentally and socially.
Our PEP team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, registered nurses, therapy assistants and care aides who work together to build a program aimed at achieving your goals.
Top tips to being confident and active include:
Have a goal - work with your GP or a physio to develop an exercise plan that you can manage.
Start small and easy – exercise shouldn’t be hard or scary. Start with small steps and build up slowly.
Don’t call it exercise! – hiding activity in another purpose is a good way to get moving.
Keep track - celebrate your achievements and keep going!
