Making a lifetime gift
A bequest is the gift of a lifetime and a wonderful way of extending your help and touching the future in a special way.
Your gift to Silver Chain can impact on many future generations of Australians and help us to plan our future work. For more than a century we have provided nursing and other services to assist people in need to live in the community. By becoming a link in our chain of friendship you can help us continue our purpose of building community capacity to optimise health and wellbeing.
It is simple to include a gift to Silver Chain in your Will, or if you already have a Will, a codicil can be added to it. Gifts can be defined as personal assets such as shares, cash, property or a percentage of your estate and can be made in a variety of ways depending on your choice.
Ways to leave a gift to Silver Chain
There are several different kinds of bequests you can leave to help the work of Silver Chain:
Residual bequest is simply a gift or whatever is left of your estate or a percentage after all your other gifts, taxes and debts have been fulfilled.
Pecuniary bequest refers to leaving a gift of a set dollar amount determined by you at the time of drawing up or altering your Will.
This is leaving a gift of an item of value, to be passed on to Silver Chain in order to generate funds.
In memory donation
Memorial donations can be a meaningful and lasting way to keep the memory of a loved one alive. Asking friends and family to donate to Silver Chain means your loved one’s memory will live on, not only in the hearts of those who knew them, but in the hearts of all West Australian’s receiving care from Silver Chain.
Gift in lieu of flowers
Many of our supporters have chosen to invite their friends and relatives to make a donation instead of spending on flowers at the funerals. By doing this, the gifts received live on in the valuable services we provide.Funeral homes have in memory envelopes available and would forward the donations directly
