Hyden
Silver Chain's Hyden service centre covers the communities of Hyden, Karlgarin, Varley, Pingaring and Mt Walker. Families from Newdegate also regularly access Hyden’s facilities due to the fact that the Hyden Primary School is the education provider for this town. Wave Rock is a popular tourist site - there are between 120-125,000 visitors per year. Hyden is one of the few towns in the Wheat Belt that is able to accommodate three tourist buses at one time making it a popular stopping point.
Silver Chain plan and co-ordinate a range of services including emergency services, prevention and health promotion, disease control, maternal / school / child health and development screening.
Silver Chain conducts regular evaluation through survey and feedback from staff and the community to ensure service delivery and the model of care is linked to priorities and needs.
Primary health and chronic disease management are an important part of our service provision across all Silver Chain sites. Nationally, there is a strong focus around primary healthcare, building capacity for the provision of healthcare services in the community and developing strong partnerships with key health care providers.
Silver Chain works in close collaboration with other key stakeholders such as WA Country Health Service (WACHS), St John Ambulance (SJA), Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), State Emergency Service (SES) and Fire & Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia (FESA) to respond to (accident) and emergency when requested and when available.![]() |
