Respite

Silver Chain's respite service can provide you with assistance when you need it. Respite is tailored to your individual needs and may include in home respite, centre based day care or cottage respite.

Respite can offer you an interval of rest or relief while you care for someone who is aged, has a disability or a life limiting illness.

In home respite
A carer will come into your home to provide care while you have a break. Planned Respite will allow you some time to take care of yourself and your needs. Your health and wellbeing are essential to enable you to provide long term care.  Our carer will ensure your family member or friend is looked after while you have some planned time for yourself.

Cottage respite
The Rockingham Respite Cottage is close to the Rockingham foreshore and provides centre based respite care to people who are aged, have a disability or life limiting illness.

The support we provide enables carers to take a short term break.  The cottage operates as a Day Centre with before and after hours care and overnight accommodation. Home cooked meals are served in a warm and friendly environment.

Activities such as art and craft, music, games, puzzles and outings are all offered at the cottage. Transport to and from the cottage can also be arranged.

Commonwealth Carelink and Respite Centre
Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres (CRCC) co-ordinate access to respite services in your local community.  Our staff can give you advice about respite services and find the service closest to you. They can also help you plan regular respite to enable you to continue in your caring role. Click for more information.
