Silver Chain Queensland want more people to benefit from Palliative Care Service
24 November 2013 Silver Chain is calling on the Sunshine Coast community to donate to their 2013 Summer Appeal to help raise vital funds to support their Palliative Care Service.
Chris McGowan, Chief Executive Officer of Silver Chain Group, says the not for profit organisation is raising funds for their Palliative Care Service to give more Queensland families the ability to care for their loved ones in their own home.
“Funds raised from our 2013 Summer Appeal, will enable us to purchase more pressure relieving devices for our palliative clients, as well as basic stocks of care supplies, such as incontinence pads. With the kind support of our community, we can ensure our Palliative Care Service is supported in this way, so more people and their families benefit.
“Our team of clinical and registered nurses deliver a round-the-clock service, providing the best quality in-home care and give families the medical support they need, while caring for their loved ones.
“We have a very special group of people in Queensland that also provide wound care, symptom management, hygiene assistance and carer advice. They can also help with the more practical aspects such as helping with advanced care planning and end of life decisions,” says Chris.
To support Silver Chain Queensland's 2013 Summer Appeal, donations can be made online by visiting www.silverchain.org.au or by calling 1300 650 803. All donations $2.00 or more are tax deductible.
