Facts and figures

Silver Chain was founded in 1905 and has been growing ever since. During the 2010/11 financial year, Silver Chain assisted more than 44,300 people and delivered in excess of 1.25 million hours of care and over 1.5 million occasions of service (June 2011). 

Silver Chain currently employs 2,100 staff and has almost 400 volunteers who actively support our organisation (June 2011).

Our staff also travelled approximately 13.5 million kilometres in our Silver Chain fleet vehicles across the State and this is increasing.  We have more than 700 vehicles in our fleet with plans to increase this to 750 in the next six months (October 2011).
