Dowerin Field Days - 25 and 26 August 2010

As part of our ongoing commitment to increase the community's capacity to maximise its health and wellbeing in rural and remote areas, Silver Chain undertook a Health Pit Stop from Site 83 in the Lifestyle Pavilion at the 2010 Dowerin Machinery Field Days.

If you attended Dowerin Field Days, we hope you had an opportunity to visit our display and find out about the services we offer and how you can access them.  Many people participated in our Health Pit Stop (for a gold coin donation) where they were screened quickly and non-invasively for three modifiable cardiovascular disease risk factors including blood pressure, body mass index and hip-to-waist ratio.  We were pleased to provide this opportunity to people to assist in raising awareness about their health and wellbeing.

We also held a raffle with tickets selling for $2 each (1st prize - $10,000 cash, 2nd prize - $3,000 cash, 3rd prize - 2 nights' accommodation in Margaret River at Margaret River Tourist Park including lunch and escorted winery tour for two people) and in addition, each raffle ticket also put entrants in the draw to win a Margaret River Chocolate Company hamper - drawn each day of the show.  The winners were Mary from Narembeen and Marie from Margaret River - Congratulations!
