Dementia care

Silver Chain supports people living with dementia through home support services, day centres and palliative care services.  Most people living with dementia and their carers are successfully supported through regular Silver Chain services.  Many Silver Chain staff complete a course in working with people with dementia as part of their regular training.  Families can add to their Silver Chain service by attending events offered by other organisations such as Alzheimers Association of WA.> Silver Chain provides a number of services that specialise in working with people with dementia and their families, such as the Community Aged Care Packages and Extended Aged Care Packages specifically funded for people with dementia. Silver Chain offers these packages in some locations only. Other providers may provide a similar service in other locations. If you are concerned about an aspect of behaviour of someone living with dementia, please talk to your Silver Chain staff member currently working with the person. You can do this via the Customer Centre on (08) 9242 0242.

'We Always Dress For Sunday Lunch' is an exciting, unique venture by Silver Chain to instil learnings about caring for people with dementia using the art of storytelling. Click to read more about this project.  read more
