Dedicated volunteers have been supporting Silver Chain, our clients and staff throughout our history.  Our trained volunteers enhance the quality of service we provide to people and their families through a wide range of activities including:

• Acting as a relief carer providing essential respite to primary carers and their families.
• Providing companionship, conversation and support to in home palliative care clients, residents of our care facilities and several day centres.
• Assisting with transport to medical, shopping and other appointments.
• Fundraising and assisting at special events and promotions.
• Helping run the volunteer service and providing office assistance.

We have over 660 volunteers working with us, more than half of whom help our clients and families in country and remote locations.  Demand for the invaluable support of volunteers is constant.  Our volunteers benefit from:
