Making a Lifetime Gift
Your Will is a very personal document which allows you to give your estate, divided in the way you wish, to the family, friends and organisations you care for. A bequest is the gift of a lifetime and a wonderful way of extending your help and touching the future in a special way.
Your gift to Silver Chain can impact on many future generations of Western Australians and help us to plan our future work. For more than a century we have provided nursing and other services to assist people in need to live in the community. By becoming a link in our chain of friendship you can help us continue our mission 'to assist people in need to live in their community.'
It is simple to include a gift to Silver Chain in your Will, or if you already have a Will, a codicil can be added to it. Gifts can be defined as personal assets such as shares, cash, property or a percentage of your estate and can be made in a variety of ways depending on your choice.
How does Silver Chain use Bequests and Donations?
Bequests and donations are used to ensure we provide the best possible service to our clients. We use such gifts to enhance our services and facilities in the following ways:
- Purchasing medical equipment such as electric beds and pain pumps used when caring for our clients
- Rebuilding, renovating and maintaining Silver Chain's metropolitan and country services centres, remote area health centres and residential care facilities to provide comfortable environments for clients and employees.
- Providing training programs for clinical and home support staff to improve client care.
- Offering additional services to the community when no other sources of funding are available.
- Funding our research unit to develop better services and more effective service delivery such as our pressure ulcer risk assessment, evaluating methods of wound care and pilot studies resulting in programs to improve independence including our Home Independence Program and Social Rehabilitation Trial.
