Bladder and bowel problems are common and affect thousands of people. If you have an ongoing bladder and bowel problem then the Continence Management and Advice Service (CMAS) can help.

Our trained nurses understand bladder and bowel conditions and can give you advice on how best to manage and improve your problem. You may also be able to access pads or products up to the value of $480 per year through this service.

Who can access the service?

If you are aged over 16 years and are a holder of a Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card you may able to access CMAS for free.

Following recent changes, if you are already receiving assistance through the Commonwealth Aids Assistance Scheme (CAAS) you may also be able to receive pads and/or products, if needed, through the CMAS Scheme.

How does the service work?

For the cost of a local call you can contact us on 1300 787 055. An appointment will be made for you with one of our nurses who specialise in the management of bladder and bowel problems.

Will I have to pay for my pads?

If you need pads or products we can help you choose the best one for you. Funding of up to $480 a year may be available for an order to be delivered to your home.

Where is CMAS available?

This service is available through a number of Silver Chain clinics within Western Australia. If you live in the country and are a long way from a clinic you may be able to have your assessment with a nurse over the telephone. Home visits are available in special circumstances should you be unable to travel to a clinic.
