Person Centred Approach
Within Silver Chain there is a commitment to place a strong value base around how we see people.
We recognise that people are individuals with stories to tell that reflect their lives and affect their wellbeing. We aim to provide quality care that is responsive to needs, preferences, choices and abilities, respecting the individuality and uniqueness of all.
This is demonstrated by our commitment to developing skills and knowledge in our people by capturing the history of those we care for empowering each other, exploring our differences, developing positive and trusting relationships and maintaining connections with communities and partners.
We Always Dress For Sunday Lunch
Silver Chain has been exploring ways in which to communicate the essence of a Person Centred Approach (PCA), particularly in instances of caring for people with dementia, a mental health issue or dealing with memory loss.
The art of storytelling is important to Silver Chain as we recognise that people are individuals with stories to tell that reflect their lives and affect their wellbeing. It was identified as an effective medium to communicate the underpinnings of the PCA. This evolved into a 25 minute film to be distributed along with a study guide identifying learning outcomes.
‘We Always Dress for Sunday Lunch’ is an exciting, unique venture by Silver Chain to instil learnings about care using the art of storytelling. Click here for more information.
